This post is about Healthy Lifestyles Tips – Being in Conformity with the Holy Spirit (2). In the first part of this topic, we looked at the fact that it was impossible to separate the three entities of God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit according to the Scriptures that were presented. We are going to look at this topic further in this blog post and analyze this topic further.
THE FATHER/COACH PICTURE
There was a man who was teaching at a secondary school. It happened that his first-born child was learning at the same secondary school. The son loved his father so much that he even wanted to join the basketball team that his father was coaching in the nearby community. He was overjoyed when his father accepted to have him in his own team because he was a good basketball player.
THE FATHER/MATHEMATICS TEACHER
The same father/coach happened to be a well-renowned mathematics teacher. He taught his son when he was in the 9th grade. The son would address him as a Teacher when he was in class learning mathematics. The same son would address his father as Coach when he was at the basketball court. Lastly, the same son would address him as Dad when he was at home.
THREE IN ONE?
Do we agree that the father played three different roles in the life of his child? Yes, we should. The father displayed his fatherhood role at home, his teaching profession at school and his coaching skills in the local community. He is one person appearing in three different roles.
GOD THE FATHER, GOD THE SON AND GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT
When it comes to the question of the Trinity, could the picture of the father, teacher and coach be relevant? Can we now say that God has appeared to us as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit? Shall we be wrong to say God in the Old Testament appeared to humankind as God the Father? When Jesus Christ was on earth, He appeared to people as God the Son? Now that He has ascended and sent the Holy Spirit, He has appeared and keeps on appearing to people as God the Holy Spirit?
ANANIAS AND SAPPHIRA
Do you remember the story of Ananias and Sapphira? What did the Apostle Peter say to them? Read for yourself what Peter said to Ananias in Acts chapter 5 v 3 – 5 and I quote for you from New King James Version, “3Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some money you received for the land? 4Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.” 5When Ananias heard this, he fell down and died. And great fear seized all who heard what had happened. 6Then some young men came forward, wrapped up his body, and carried him out and buried him.”
Notice above the way Peter has interchanged the words Holy Spirit and God: “…You have lied to the Holy Spirit” and “You have not lied just to human beings but to God. “
GOD HAS FEELINGS AND SO DOES THE HOLY SPIRIT AND JESUS CHRIST
Do you remember that the generation of Noah had grieved God to the extent of God wanting to wipe out the whole of the human race, but Noah found favor with God? Noah was spared with his precious family and the animal species. This is only one of the many examples of Scriptures in the Old Testament where God was grieved.
Do you also remember how angry Jesus Christ was when he found the money changers in the temple? He was angry and grieved and so he whipped them and overturned their tables for turning the house of prayer into the den of thieves.
The Holy Spirit felt the same towards Ananias and his wife Sapphira and He struck both of them dead. Later the Apostle Paul was to write to the Ephesians the importance of not grieving the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 4 v 30, “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”
That’s it! This is the whole purpose of a good lifestyle. Never grieve the Holy Spirit. Grieving the Holy Spirit is as good as offending God the Father and God the Son. A good lifestyle is the one that involves walking freely in the Spirit and producing fruits of the Holy Spirit.
WHAT ARE THESE FRUITS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT?
Without wasting time, the Bible reveals the fruits of the Holy Spirit in Galatians chapter 5 v22 and 23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law.”
IN CONFORMITY WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT
When you display the fruits of the Holy Spirit in your life, it means you are compatible with what God wants to see in your life. Remember that LOVE is the greatest of all the fruits. Without love, God should not have given us His precious Son to die for our sins and be reconciled to Him.
Without love, God could have thrown us into the lake of fire prepared for the devil and his angels. He was compassionate to the human race and wanted to rescue man from this lake of fire. It was not meant for you. That is why God devised a rescue plan of sending Jesus Christ to come and take you to heaven and not hell. That is why living a lifestyle that is in conformity with what the Holy Spirit desires is a must lest we get thrown into the lake of fire.
THE RESULTS OF NOT WALKING IN CONFORMITY WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT
The opposite of love is hatred. Where there is hatred, there will be chaos instead of order. This life of non-conformity to the desires of the Holy Spirit has brought about many bad things. Are there wars in our society? Yes. That is why we have many refugees displaced all over the world. Is there a hunger in our midst? Yes. That is why we have many people running away from poverty-stricken countries to look for a better life in the developed world.
You can remove poverty in your life and family by getting trained freely on this site:
